About the LTRC
The ABA's Legal Technology Resource Center is the starting point for attorneys seeking information about implementing and understanding technology and has been providing practice technology services to ABA members since 1985. The LTRC provides resources including publications, electronic discussion forums, surveys, comparative studies, and more. The Center also offers services such as consulting, outreach, and research. LTRC staff develop resources and provide guidance on wide-ranging issues such as XML standards development, universal citation, and the emergence of new top level Internet domains.
LTRC researchers can provide helpful information on topics that are of special importance to your law office. The Center's staff includes librarians who understand your information needs and can provide you with answers. In addition to the website resources, LTRC staff are available via a helpline (312) 988-5465 or via e-mail ltrc@abanet.org.
LTRC staff provide guidance on Association technology decisions and policy through their work for the Standing Committee on Technology and Information Systems
(SCOTIS), whose members are selected by the ABA President and who meet quarterly to provide guidance on both external and internal technology issues. SCOTIS was created in 1997 as a successor to the Coordinating Commission on Legal Technology (CCOLT).
