AIG has long been a go-to carrier for many companies seeking environmental coverage to facilitate redevelopments and to backstop or replace indemnities in mergers and acquisitions and property transactions. But what happens when the parent company of world's largest provider of environmental coverage itself teeters on the brink of collapse? What impact has AIG's financial crisis had on the thousands of environmental policies it has already written, on its ability to write future coverage, and on the availability of environmental insurance as a whole?
Listen to this program to hear first-hand from AIG Environmental's Chairman and CEO, Joe Boren, on what reassurance his company is offering to concerned AIG policyholders and to future prospective purchasers of environmental coverage.
Participants will also hear commentary from Chris Smy, Global Practice Leader of Marsh USA Inc.'s Environmental Practice, regarding the current state of the environmental insurance market, and its appetite for risk. Mr. Smy will also offer suggestions to current and future policy holders on how to protect themselves from carrier downgrades and insolvency.
Finally, Paul Sherbine, Managing Director of Marsh's Global Partner Analysis Group, explains how carriers are rated, how the rating agencies and insurance regulators are viewing AIG's current situation, and what it means to companies who have "non-admitted policies."
Participants will:- Understand the current conditions of the marketplace
- Understand the financial impacts to environmental insurance
- Learn future negotiations for coverage to avoid risks in future
